He took a long draw from the gnarled cigarette,
As the embers lit up the darkened lines on that hardened face,
His eyes remained a steady, steely blue,
“So this is home”,
His voice shook the earth,
Beneath his solitary cloud,
“This is it”.
This post is very very late. I’ve had it ready to go for days and just haven’t had the stability of internet or time to hit upload.
I’ve been to quite a few beautiful places already in the meantime and I’ll do them one day at a time.
Since arriving in Canada I spent time in Calgary. It’s a nice city but it’s also not my kind of thing. I prefer the nature and beauty of Banff. I did meet a metric shittonne of amazing people in Calgary and we became our own hybrid family for well over a week. Shoutout to Jana, Tim, Christine, Sarah, Titus, Laura, Mandy, Josh, and anyone else I happen to have missed. I’m the last remaining member still in Banff the rest have moved onto various other places and the next steps in their lives. It was a beautiful time with you all.
I started my job at the Banff Gondola and within one day I had quit to go to the Fairmont Lake Louise. The people at the gondola were marvelous and I hope to see them around town many times before my time here is up. I just can’t say no to the opportunities Fairmont give me.
Keep your eyes peeled for posts in the coming days. I will endeavor to become a regular poster again.
