Like a sad, slow movie,
I watch the trees flash by,
These evergreen images taunting me,
Beautiful reminders of what I leave behind,
As the train carries me on,
It should just be some soil, air and sun,
A location on the planet similar to many others,
But the sweat, toil and emotion leave me winded,
A little tattoo branded on my heart,
I’m going to miss this place,
And cherish the memories of what once was.
