Hola mi amigos
It’s been a bit of time.
I have been quite busy. I will gloss over my time in London because it was wet and rainy and I didn’t do a hell of a lot besides sleep. I did go to the Tate Modern Art exhibits and I was utterly entranced. Loved every moment of it. This was my favourite
Leaving London and heading to Belgium was ok with the exception I left some clothes behind… shit. Border control into France was fun, and this weird train for buses to cross the channel really threw me for a loop. Arriving in Bruges was amazing. It’s such a friendly town everyone smiling and saying hello. This place is utterly gorgeous. I’ve now been here 3 days and I can safely say I’ve done the city lap 20 times. You can just lose yourself for hours on end and not get lost for a minute. I have rarely exclaimed “wow” while looking at buildings but I couldn’t help myself here.
I arrived and almost immediately went out into the town. I came at a good time. The local football team Club Bruge won the Belgian football league so the place was alive. There was a marathon held in town earlier that day so there were even more people around. Finally, there was a band staying at my hostel that held a free show. To say the night was spectacular is an understatement.
I managed to get really lucky with weather on my arrival. From 6pm to 11pm I walked the streets taking photos. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky and hardly a person on the street. I would later realise the next day how fortunate I was as it was hazy, overcast and heavily crowded. Lucky me.
I might have gotten a little two rotten drunk last night with my new friends Vanessa and Ben. It started at the beer museum and ended… at midday the next day. This meant I safely missed my 5am bus to Cologne and was also two hours late to check out. In the beautiful fluidity of travel though this has lead to one more night in this beautiful town, and my German friend who I was going to visit in Cologne now gets to safely pass his exam tomorrow.
If only I could recover from this hangover.
Anyway tomorrow I head to Amsterdam which is exciting (but expensive!)
