So I’ve had a bit of a hiatus from the blog just to recharge the old batteries. It’s nice to take time away and I can’t help but think back to Hemingway’s theory of never emptying the well of creativity when you write. I’ll have to work on that since I seem to drain it far too frequently. In the meantime quite a bit has been going on. Before I begin… The featured picture was designed by my friend Sabrina combining my poem Garden Grown and a photo she took of the wheat fields near her place in Germany. I love it!!!
First up, I somehow hit 1600 followers yesterday, and once again I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who follows this blog. It wasn’t too long ago I was stoked about having 1,000 followers, and only a little further back when I was stoked with 100. If you all keep coming back I’ll keep writing
Secondly, May next year seems to be the month I move to Canada, and I couldn’t be more excited. I haven’t decided on a location just yet, but I’m pretty happy with anywhere at this point. I can’t wait to fill this blog with travel content again as I work my way around the great white north. I don’t think I’ll spend my money on skiing but rather work during winter and hike during spring/summer which is by far my favourite thing.
Thirdly, I recently took up German as per my fascination with languages and I really didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I have been. It’s not as easy to learn as Spanish (obviously), but it isn’t too ridiculous just yet.
Fourthly, I get to see my Father and Brother in a few weeks which will be the first time in at least 12 months. Needless to say I’m pretty excited about it! Ideally we’re going to go camp on Fraser Island for a few nights which will be nice. Especially since I haven’t been yet since I moved here… oops.
Finally, my friend who has been living in Japan is coming home for a month which makes August a busy month of social fun. Then September is filled with weddings of other friends of mine…
Needless to say it’s all coming up aces.
Check back in for more Poetry later 😉
Thank you all again!
