He had arrived,
Shoulders sore,
Mind full,
A heavy beard,
And bright eyes,
He had lost weight,
But felt full,
As he stepped out of the car,
His worn feet ached,
Looking up expectantly,
He noticed the house,
“Nothing’s changed here”,
He said,
Reality dawned on him,
“Nothing…has changed”,
He couldn’t hide the disappointment,
He was home.
