So if you read a new backpacking challenge you would be aware that I am looking to return to South East Asia with a smaller bag and brimming with a sense of adventure. Here’s the thing, I just found out about all the troubles in Myanmar and I don’t think it’d be wise to put myself in that situation. So I am left with Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, but I want more.

Here are a list of additional places I would like to visit on this trip in no particular order

  • India
  • Macau
  • Hong Kong
  • China
  • Mongolia
  • Taipei
  • Timor Leste

I’ll be able to fly out of Kuala Lumpur with Air Asia which should keep cost down, except for Mongolia of course. Please keep in mind I’m looking to do things cheaply and I most likely can’t afford to visit ALL of those places, if I did I wouldn’t be able to afford a roof over my head of food in front of me.

Here’s where you lovely people come into it; I’d love some advice so if you’ve been to any of the countries above (Including Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines) I’d love to hear

  • Any tips for travelling the area
  • Advice on where I should go in addition to the main three
  • Places to visit when I land
  • Cost cutting experience I could use

Feel free to leave your thoughts below, and if you have articles that you’ve written I’d love to read them so again feel free to leave a link in the comments.

Safe travels
